"Living at Avondale house for the first time since leaving home was scary and its not nice when you have to live with other people. But after time I realised that this is somewhere that I need to be right now. My life is better and I feel better. I have made mistakes but the staff have been there to help me all the time. I'm happy here at the moment.

"The house is to big and I cant look after my money myself, why do I have to clean my room and I don't want to be told what to do. These are some of the things I used to shout about when I first came to Avondale to live in Dover. The hill is a bit much to get up when you go out, but I really like living here now. I've made friends and even at the times when I was at my lowest i always had someone to help and support me. I am grateful to all the staff here who really understand me. It takes time"
"I've been on the street homeless and I've been caught in some bad situations, I don't really have people around me and I live with really bad mental health problems. Its nice that there's someone to sit and have a chat with. Someone that knows ya. The staff don't change that much, sometimes they do but its alright and they help with everything I need, they're good to me and I'm glad and happy to be back again.
I'm looking forward to being able to stay here with everyone I made friends with until I have to go"
